Zhang Zhehan, the singer-songwriter who gained recognition for his role in “Word of Honor,” has released a new English single titled “90s.” The inspiration for the song came from a reflection on the passage of time. Zhang expressed sincerely: “Growing up is a one-way street; the past is irreversible and cannot be relived. Only beautiful songs can preserve every moment, allowing listeners to feel the beauty that the creator brings.”

Zhang was unsatisfied with his initial recording performance in the early stages of producing the song. After reflection and thought, he poured his heart and effort into the work. Ultimately, he infused his understanding and expression into the interpretation, leading to the completion of the new piece “90s.”

In addition, his documentary, “August,” which he directed, recently won the “Global Award” at the ARFF International Film Festival’s Amsterdam section, as well as the Best Screenplay Award at the Red Movie Awards 2024 Summer Edition. The news filled Zhang with unexpected pride, and he expressed that he felt honored.

“August” documents Zhang’s self-healing journey following an online storm he faced in August 2021, which turned his career upside down. When the stage and limelight disappeared, and his life and career were shattered by false information and malicious distortion online, Zhang chose to embark on a new journey towards the real world in August two years later, in a way that he loves. Along his cycling route from Shangri-La to Lhasa, he encountered snow-capped mountains and glaciers, met ordinary yet touching faces, and listened to the voices of the earth, the stories of strangers, as well as the pains and loves within his heart.
