作为《拾荒者》专辑中最后一支单曲，《WU》的构思、成型、塑造、落地也经历了层层剥离和探索。歌曲的demo仅花了一个晚上，张哲瀚与制作人乘兴飞扬哼唱，三段落式结构便利落创作完成；曲风上将Melodic Techno与快节奏说唱结合，在电子乐的律动上注入人声叙事力；而在歌词构思上，歌手历经四个午后的沉思，终于将歌名及主旨敲定，这是一首半命题歌曲，对于「WU」的表达更像是一种灵性状态的索引。

关于「雾」

或深处寥廓荒野，或隘于深谷岩缝，在雪原深海里游进游出。

新生长的嫩芽长在遗忘之乡的混沌地，被笼罩在拱形半透明的迷乱空间，它好奇懵懂，望着杳无尽头的空地，嗅着湿热的黎明气息，身处人群却看不清人性，偶感孤独而慢慢成熟，歌手用第一段落记录着一株渺小生命体的心脏搏动。

关于「悟」

幼苗不甘倾覆于蠹虫的暗地蛀蚀，疯狂吸纳阳光露水和风雨雷电。根茎连接地心深处，枝叶擎起漫天骄阳，不分昼夜蓬勃生长，与万物碰撞。灵思与躯干进化到绝对成熟与强大的状态，直至在某个瞬间首尾与天地相通，一道耀眼白光闪过，悟的瞬间经历了一场卵石碰撞行星的无声爆炸。

关于「勿」

分秒停格的瞬间，感知世界不过是身外之物。树荫生长得繁盛至极，可曾俯见身侧背阴处也等待光合作用的矮木，如歌词所写的“如失去克制和宽容，这世界的欲望将无限放大”，花圃光华需要修剪，梁上垂丝需要打理，而欲念猜忌虚妄就像灵魂的杂草，鞋子里的石子。心灵的戒断或癣疥，存于己念。

As the final single from the album Scavenger (《拾荒者》), the conception, formation, shaping, and realization of “WU” underwent layers of peeling back and exploration. The song’s demo was completed in just one evening — Zhang Zhehan and the producer sang and hummed enthusiastically, and the three-part structure came together smoothly. Musically, it combines Melodic Techno with fast-paced rap, infusing the electronic rhythm with vocal storytelling power. Lyrically, after four afternoons of contemplation, the singer finally settled on the title and theme. This is a semi-conceptual song, with the expression of “WU” serving more as an index of a spiritual state.

About “Mist” (「雾」)

Whether in vast desolate wilderness or confined in narrow valley crevices, swimming in and out of snowy plains and deep seas, the newly sprouted tender shoots grow in the chaotic land of forgotten realms. Shrouded in an arched translucent misty space, they are curious and naive, gazing at endless emptiness, sniffing the humid dawn air. They are Surrounded by crowds yet unable to discern human nature, feeling occasional loneliness and slowly maturing. The singer uses the first section to capture the heartbeat of this tiny living being.

About “Enlightenment” (「悟」)

The seedlings refuse to succumb to the dark decay of woodworms, absorbing sunlight, dew, wind, rain, thunder, and lightning with frenzy. Roots connect deep into the earth’s core, branches hold up the blazing sun, growing vigorously day and night, colliding with all things. Mind and body evolve to an absolute state of maturity and power, until, at a certain moment, the beginning and end connect with heaven and earth — a dazzling white light flashes. The moment of enlightenment is like a silent explosion of pebbles colliding with planets.

About “Not” (「勿」)

In the suspended moment of each second, perceiving the world is nothing more than external things. The shade of trees grows lush to the extreme — but have you ever noticed the shaded undergrowth nearby also waiting for photosynthesis? As the lyrics say, “Without restraint or empathy, desires will thrive and swell to consume the world alive” The brilliance of the flowerbed needs pruning, hanging vines need tending, and desires, suspicion, and illusions are like weeds in the soul or stones in your shoes. The mind’s detox or affliction exists within one’s own thoughts.
