After two years, returning to fans — Zhang Zhehan treats his fans by giving an early preview of his new song.

(Kuala Lumpur, 4th) Chinese artist Zhang Zhehan visited Malaysia on Sunday night with his “Kaleidoscope” fan meeting, meeting local “Haizhe” (the fans’ nickname). Since the Kuala Lumpur stop was announced, tickets sold out almost immediately upon release.

To give back to his fans, Zhang Zhehan delivered a sincere and energetic performance that night, even at the risk of being fined for exceeding the show’s time limit. He performed multiple songs and frequently interacted with the audience. He also surprised fans by sharing a preview of his new song “Jie Wo” (All Me) and revealed that his new drama is set to premiere in two months, heightening fans’ anticipation.

It had been two years since his last visit to Malaysia for an event. Zhang Zhehan said that during this period he had been busy with his entertainment career. Although he didn’t get to meet fans often in person, he still tried to “see” them in other ways, such as through livestream interactions. However, he joked that facing the camera and lights during livestreams sometimes made him feel sleepy, amusing the entire audience.

Speaking about his recent activities, Zhang Zhehan revealed that aside from attending classes and playing sports, he has also been filming on set. He shared the differences between filming in the past and now, admitting that previously, as an actor, he only needed to focus on the script and performance. Nowadays, however, he takes on multiple roles on set—such as director, screenwriter, and producer—which at times made him question whether he could handle it all.

He said, “When one person takes on too many responsibilities, it’s inevitable to feel the hardship, and it also means there aren’t many people around to help. Now, as I begin preparing my second project, more people are joining to assist, which is also a form of learning from another perspective. It’s not easy to create a work you truly like, but as long as you take the first brave step, things will gradually get better.”

Zhang Zhehan also expressed hope that his upcoming works will receive greater attention, and he looks forward to all his projects in the second half of the year progressing smoothly.

Zhang Zhehan also surprised fans by sharing several never-before-seen photos from his personal life. For this, he specifically went back through his past WeChat Moments to find some of the earliest photos he had posted. The four photos revealed on-site included scenes from his cycling trip in Tibet, a period costume look, tennis-related photos, and a picture with his mother from his university days before graduation. Fans eagerly raised their phones to capture these precious moments.

Midway through the fan meeting, he also selected and read aloud letters written by fans. In return, he had prepared a letter for them as well: “I actually spent many days thinking about this letter. I’ve always felt that in many moments, we are equal, and we are one whole. I also believe that many of the things I’ve learned, you will learn too. So today is a day for us to celebrate together, to share happiness, and it’s a day worth remembering and cherishing in the future.” His heartfelt words deeply moved everyone present.

As May 11 marks the birthday of Zhang Zhehan, fans specially prepared a celebratory video, and a birthday cake was also presented on-site to celebrate with him in advance. While making his wish, he revealed that his new drama will premiere in two months and expressed hope that everyone will like his performance. He also wished for everything to go smoothly moving forward, saying, “My mind is full of the projects in the second half of the year—I hope we can all happily reunite again in the future.”
